Sloe Living
This ‘Sloe Living' sloe berries print celebrates the blue berries that fill our autumn hedgerows; source of nutrition for wildlife, and a forager's delight, ready to be made into gin, jams and jellies.
Symbolism: Protection and nourishment through difficult times
In Celtic and other European traditions, blackthorn was often associated with protective magic. Historically, sloes have been used both as a food source and in traditional medicine. In Celtic folklore, the blackthorn is seen as a symbol of strength and resilience, of the ability to endure hardships.
